Kindergarten boy kidnapped for Rs 50 lakh ransom in Vadodara
Vadodara, Oct 29 (UNI) A five-year-old boy was allegedly kidnapped today by some unidentified persons for a ransom of Rs 50 lakh after he was dropped outside his bungalow in Majalpur area here by a school van.
Harshil Kiranbhai Patel, studying in Senior Kindergarten in Jay Ambe Vidyalaya, was picked up from his school by Pinto, the van driver, after the school closed at 1100 hrs. However, the boy disappeared just near his house.
Harshil's father, a big businessman trading in food items, then called the police.
Within half-an-hour, Kiranbhai received a phone call on his mobile from someone who, speaking in Hindi, said the boy was with him and if Kiranbhai wanted to see his son alive, he must pay Rs 50 lakh.
The police traced the call number 2495682 to a PCO booth.
However, the PCO owner was not able to say much about that particular call.
