HC extends protection for Chirnajeevi's daughter

New Delhi, Oct 29 (UNI) The Delhi High Court today extended the police protection provided to Telugu actor Chiranjeevi's daughter Sreeja and her husband Sirish Bhardwaj by two weeks.

Hearing the petition by Sreeja apprehending threat to their lives from her father, Justice S N Dhingra ordered the police to extend their protection by 15 days.

Arguing for the couple, advocate Pinky Anand said Sreeja had received a letter from her father wishing the couple a happy married life. The letter also stated that the actor had accepted their marriage and so there was nothing to fear.

However, the couple reiterated their fear on the grounds that neither Chiranjeevi nor his brother Pawan Kalyan had spoken to Sreeja directly till now. Besides, the actor had not withdrawn the cases lodged against Sirish.

They requested for extension of police protection till they were in Delhi, advocate Anand said.

The couple had asked the Hyderabad Police Commissioner for protection when they return but did not get any reply.

Justice Dhingra ordered that the couple should approach Andhra Pradesh courts for further relief.
