Delta, HFH to build 100 houses in Maharashtra

Mumbai, Oct 29 (UNI) US-based Delta Air Lines, which recently started its daily nonstop Mumbai-New York flight, today announced a donation of 100,000 USD to support the NGO, ''Habitat for Humanity (HFH)'', in building 100 homes in Maharashtra.

Delta, in association with HFH, will build 100 homes in the villages of Nagewadi and Karjat in Maharashtra.

Delta employees will also donate about USD 1,400 for the same purpose, a press release here today said.

More than 40 Delta employees and six Delta SkyMiles' customers have volunteered initially to help in building six houses. These houses will be dedicated on November 15 and the house-owners will also receive a traditional gift of a steel cooking pot and other household items donated by Delta, it added.
