CEC to review poll preparations in Gujarat from tomorrow

New Delhi, Oct 29 (UNI) Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) N Gopalaswamy will be on a three-day visit to Gujarat from tomorrow to take stock of election preparations in Surat and Vadodara.

According to Election Commission sources, Mr Gopalaswamy will reach Surat tomorrow where he will hold review meetings with the District Election Officers (DEO's) of the city, Navsari, Dangs and Valsad.

The CEC will visit Vadodara on October 31 and hold similar meetings with the DEO's of the city, Godhra, Dahod, Narmadaand and Bharuch.

During his stay in the state, Mr Gopalaswamy will also discuss the polling arrangements with the state Police Commissioner, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Vadodara and DSP Vadodara rural, the sources added.
