Medical teachers to go on mass casual leave tomorrow

Mumbai, Oct 28 (UNI) About 2,000 medical teachers, attached to nine government-run medical colleges in Maharashtra, will go on a one-day mass casual leave tomorrow, to protest against the government policy of not fulfilling their pending demands.

An announcement to this effect was made by Maharashtra State Medical Teachers' Association president Dr Ram Raje.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Raje said ''We are going on a mass casual leave tomorrow, protesting against the government policy of not fulfilling our pending demands.'' Their demands include revision of salary structure on par with other states, permission to practise outside, provision for time bound promotions and recognition as government servants, he added.
