Governor holds Executive Committee meeting of top officials

Bangalore, Oct 28 (UNI) With BJP staking its claim to form the next government with the support of the JDS(S), Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur today held an Executive Committee meeting of top officials here today.

The Committee, equivalent to the state Cabinet, consisted of three newly appointed advisors to the Governor - P P Prabhu, S Krishna Kumar, both retired IAS officials, and P K Tharakan, a retired IPS officer.

The Committee reviewed the developmental works pertaining to various departments and decided to convene a meeting of secretaries of all departments tomorrow to 'beef-up' the administration.

It resolved to hold 'Janata Darshan' both at state capital as well as at districts and taluks to hear peoples' grievances.

Meanwhile, Mr Thakur announced the appointment of B V Acharya as the new Advocate General of the state in place of Uday Holla, who had resigned following the fall of the Kumaraswamy government.
