sworn
in
as
Meghalaya
Governor
on
October
29
at
Raj
Bhawan
here
in
place
of
incumbent
Banwari
Lal
Joshi,
who
has
been
appointed
as
the
Governor
of
Uttarakhand.
President Pratibha Patil bestowed Manipur Governor Dr Shivinder Singh Sidhu with additional duty of Meghalaya.
Mr Joshi, who succeeded M M Jacob on April 12, demitted office on October 25.
The appointment of Dr Sidhu, who will continue to be the Governor of Manipur, will be effective until regular arrangements were made for the office of Meghalaya Governor, the Rashtrapati Bhavan communique had said.
