MoU signed with NRI for restoration of temple

Mysore, Oct 27 (UNI) Director of Archaeology and Museums today signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Non Resident Indian to take up restoration of Sri Gunjanarasimha Swamy temple at T Narasipura in the district.

NRI Dr Ramanuja Iyengar, a Cardiologist by profession, who is a native of T Narasipura and now settled in Florida, USA, has come forward to take up the restoration work of the temple and has donated Rs 1.25 crore for the works.

The ancient temple belonged to post Vijayanagara dynasty period.

The State Government has also accorded permission for the project.

Director R Gopal said the project was expected to be completed within 30 months.
