Pathanamthitta, Oct 27 (UNI) The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Ramesh Chennithala today said a 'Peace Sathyagraha' will be staged in front of the State Secretariat on October 31 protesting against the 'campus politics of violence'.

He was speaking at the leadership training camp held at Marthoma Youth Centre, Adoor, near here.

He said the DCCs would hold awareness campaigns at all districts.

'Campus violence' was a fall-out of the subservience of the Home Ministry to the dictates of CPI(M). Police stations were under the control of local committiees and area committiees of CPI(M), he alleged.

The Home Ministry had no control over the law and order enforcement agency.

The incident of honouring Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan by offering red shawl by the inmates of a jail recently showed the nexus between the police and the accused, he alleged.

Leader of the Opposition Oommen Chandy who inaugurated the training camp had demanded an impartial probe into the Changanassery incident.

Described the LDF rule as anti-development, Mr Chandy accused SFI of resorting to campus violence. He said those who voted LDF to power had already deserted them.

Education Minister M A Baby was interested only in making onslaughts on the religious minorities, he added.
