Tiruchirapalli, Oct 27 (UNI) Rajya Sabha Member Kanimozhi today said she would mobilise the support of women members of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to urge the Centre to implement the 33 per cent reservation for women in Parliament and Assemblies soon.

In an informal chat with newspersons here, she said it was the duty of every political party to make sure that the reservation for women was implemented.

Social evils like dowry were still alive. Only through more awareness programmes, we could ward off this evil, she said.

CII Tamil Nadu State Council Chairman Gopal Srinivasan said the CII was taking several steps for empowering women.

In his address, State Transport Minister K N Nehru said Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi was very keen in getting the Bill for 33 per cent reservation for women passed.
