Grasim Ind Q2 net up 47.93 pc to Rs 499.78 crore

New Delhi, Oct 27: Aditya Birla Group company Grasim Industries Ltd today said its net profit went up by 47.93 per cent to Rs 499.78 crore for the quarter ended September 30, as compared to Rs 337.84 crore for the same period a year ago.

Company's total income also shot up by 24.97 per cent to Rs 2576.55 crore for Q2 FY2007-08, against Rs 2061.61 crore for the same quarter during the previous fiscal, a statement said.

Recently Grasim Industries shareholders approved the sell, transfer or disposal of two textile units in Haryana to its subsidiary, Grasim Bhiwani Textiles.
