Dead body of kidnapped student recovered

Hardwar, Oct 27 (UNI) Police have recovered the dead body of a 19-year old student of St Johns School, Roorkee, from a field near Pant Nagar.

Dhananjay, son of Ram Asrey Singh, quality control manager of Uttam Sugar Mills , Libberhedi in the district,was kidnapped on October 19 from the city.

The SP (Dehat), Vimala Gunjiyal said with the help of Pant Nagar police, Roorkee police recovered yesterday the dead body of the abducted student from a field near Pant Nagar in Udham Singh Nagar district of the state.

The police sources said the victim's maternal uncle, Dharmendra, who is a worker in Khai Kheri Sugar Mill, along with his co-worker, Rajesh Kumar, had abducted Dhamendra for ransom of Rs10 lakh. When the parents failed to pay the ransom in time, the abductors killed the boy.

Dharmendra had been arrested, while the other accused was still absconding, police said.
