CPI(ML) demands arrest, prosecution of Modi for Gujarat genocide

New Delhi, Oct 27 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (Marxist Leninist) has demanded the arrest and prosecution of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for the 2002 Gujarat genocide.

Party General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, in a press statement issued here today, said if the revelations of the sting operation in the " cash-for-questions" scandal could lead to action against MPs, then surely, the revelations of mass murder in the 2002 Gujarat riots warranted the arrest and prosecution of the ''man who masterminded it".

He said the recent Tehelka sting operation only confirmed in the words of the Sangh Parivar's own mouth, what murmurous citizens' fact-finding reports had established, that the Modi Government had orchestrated a planned genocide of Muslims in 2002.

The first step in securing justice for the victims of the genocide could only be the arrest of Mr Modi for crimes against humanity, Mr Bhattacharya added.
