Bangladesh to honour deceased solider buried in Tripura

Agartala, Oct 27 (UNI) A five-member delegation from Bangladesh would visit Tripura on November six to pay homage to a sector commander during the Bangladesh liberation war in 1971, who was killed by Pakistani forces in Ambassa of Dhalai district in Tripura.

A senior officer of the Dhalai district administration said here today, ''Bangladeshi authorities had requested us to allow them to pay homage to the deceased soldier and sought our help and accordingly the state government responded to the appeal.'' Hamidur Rahaman was buried in a graveyard under Salema police station area and the Dhalai district administration had located the exact spot following the request of the Bangladesh government.

The officer added, since Bangladesh would celebrate its 37th year of liberation victory on December 16, they would pay homage to the soldier and the Dhalai district administration would help them to excavate the skeletal remains from the graveyard.
