12-hour bandh extended to entire East Midnapore

Nandigram, Oct 27 (UNI) The Trinamool Congress today extended the 12-hour Nandigram bandh call tomorrow to entire East Midnapore district.

Bhumi Uchhed Protirodh Committee convenor and Trinamool MLA Shisir Adhikary said party supremo Mamata Banerjee was expected to arrive here this evening in this regard.

Mr Adhikary had alleged that the CPM activists entered Nandigram brandishing arms and fired after being incited by the remarks of CPM leader Laxman Seth during a zonal committee meeting at Haldia yesterday.

He also alleged that a minor in Satengabari village was shot at on his chest and was was rushed to Nandigram Hospital. He was further shifted to SSKM Hospital in Kolkata, where his condition deteriorated.

Meanwhile, the situation remained tense as both parties continued with exchange of fire.
