Two inter-state gangsters killed in encounter with Delhi Police

New Delhi, Oct 25 (UNI) The Delhi Police, in a joint operation with the Uttaranchal Police, shot dead two inter-state gangsters near Hardwar this afternoon.

Gurbachan and Jabbar, wanted in many cases of murder, dacoity, robbery, extortion, attempt to murder and criminal intimidation in Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, were seriously injured in an encounter with a joint team by the Delhi Police Special Cell, the SOG (Hardwar) and the Uttaranchal Police near Hardwar at around 1400 hours today, police said.

The two gangsters were admitted to the hospital where they were declared brought dead.

A sub inspector of the Delhi Police was also injured in the encounter.

Two foreign make pistols of 0.32 mm bore along with eight live cartridges were recovered from the gangsters.

While Gurbachan was involved in about 27 cases of dacoity, murder, attempt to murder and robbery in Delhi, Haryana and UP, Jabbar was involved in three cases.
