Team India accused of dishonoring tricolour

Kanpur, Oct 25 (UNI) A court case has been filed against the Twenty20 world champion Indian cricket team for allegedly dishonoring the national flag.

The case was filed in the court of Kanpur's chief metropolitan magistrate by a lawyer Rahul Pandey.

The court has fixed October 31 for next hearing.

The petitioner has contended that after winning the Twenty20 championship in South Africa, the Team India had wrapped the tricolour on their bodies and the champagne, which was opened during celebrations, had soaked the national flag, which tantamount to its dishonor.

The petitioner has made 15 Team India members, including skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni as the opposite parties.

As part of the coming India-Pakistan ODI series, a match would also be played at the Green Park Stadium here on November 11.
