Suven, US Varsity to link up on HIV I Therapy

Hyderabad, Oct 25 (UNI) Suven Life Sciences Ltd has entered into a collaboration with us-based University of Minnesota for developing new therapies to treat human immunodeficiency virus Type 1 (HIV-1).

This collaboration in-principle was for research and test programme to explore clinical efficacy of and make available to patients, under safe conditions, certain naturally- occurring substances which were believed to have therapeutic value for HIV-1, a company release here today said.

With current antiretroviral therapy not only costly but also inaccessible to many parts of the world, Suven was enthused to collaborate with University of Minnesota to develop drugs to meet this requirement by using natural resources, according to Suven Life Sciences CEO Venkat Jasti.
