Nicholas Piramal Q2 net profit up by 20.75 pc

Mumbai, Oct 25 (UNI) Nicholas Piramal India has declared its net profit at Rs 80.98 crore for the quarter ended September 30, up 20.75 per cent as compared to Rs 67.06 crore for the same period a year ago.

The Company's total income also shot up by 20.12 per cent to Rs 531.82 crore in the second quarter of the fiscal year 2007-08 against Rs 442.74 crore for the same quarter during the previous fiscal, a release said.

The Group posted 57.88 per cent profit at Rs 84.77 crore for the quarter ended September 30 as compared to Rs 53.69 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006.

The Group's total income also increased 16.75 per cent at Rs 764.57 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2007 against Rs 654.83 crore for the same period a year ago, the release added.
