Nagaland Women Commission to host seminar
Kohima, Oct 25 (UNI) The Nagaland State Commission for Women (NSCW) today announced that it would organise a two-day national seminar - ''Towards a new Horizon'' - from October 30.
In a press release issued here, NSWC Chairperson Sano Vamuzo stated that Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Governor K Sankaranarayanan will attend the inaugural function as the Guest of Honour and Chief Guest respectively.
The seminar would be organised with a view to bringing together women activists from all over the Northeastern region and beyond to deliberate on pertinent gender concerns, the release added.
Former Indian Ambassador to Belaruse Madhu Bhaduri, who is also a leading women activist, would speak on ''Right to Information and Gender Equity'', along with well known author, women activist and teacher from Delhi University Dr Nivedita Menon.
Journalist and social activist Padmashree Patricia Mukhim and experts of the NE with the National Commission for Women will be the resource persons on ''Women in Decision-Making''.
Besides local resource persons, Nagaland Chief Information Commission P Talitemjen Ao would grace the valedictory function on October 31 as the Chief Guest.
UNI
