Leopard skin seized, 2 poachers nabbed

Theni, Tamil Nadu, Oct 25 (UNI) Forest Department officials arrested two poachers and seized a leopard skin at Pullakkapatti Village in Thevaram, near here, last evening, official sources said today.

The sources added that following a tip off, the team conducted a surprise raid and arrested Mayilsamy (67) and Loganathan (28) of Kodaikanal and effected the seizure.

The poachers confessed to having shot a two-and-a-half-year-old leopard in the reserve forests of Pollachi, recently and tried to smuggle the skin.

Later, they were produced before a local court which remanded them in judicial custody.
