JSW Steel net profit up by 47.6 pc at Rs 511.23 cr

Mumbai, Oct 25 (UNI) JSW Steel today announced that its net profit has increased by 47.6 per cent at Rs 511.23 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2007 as against Rs 346.30 crore for the same period last year.

The total income of the Company went up by 18.7 per cent at Rs 2,618.77 for the quarter ended September 30, as against Rs 2,205.02 crore for the same period in 2006, a release said.

The Group posted a net profit of Rs 493.2 crore for the quarter ended September 30. The total income is at Rs 2,642.15 crore.

JSW Steel produces and distributes iron and steel products. It manufactures hot rolled steel strips, sheets, plates, MS cold rolled coils, sheets, MS galvanised plain, corrugated, colour coated coils and sheets, the release added.
