Indian embassy in Kazakhstan to shift from Almaty to Astana

New Delhi, Oct 25 (UNI) The Indian Embassy in Kazakhstan, presently in Almaty, will shift to the newly-built capital Astana on November 1.

India and Kazakhstan established diplomatic relations in 1992.

The Indian Embassy started functioning in Almaty, the then capital of Kazakhstan, within a year of establishment of diplomatic relations.

The two countries are celebrating 15 years of establishment of diplomatic relations.

The Kazakhstan Government has created favourable conditions for the comfortable functioning of foreign missions in Astana and facilitated their move to the new capital city by allocating to them lands in the vicinity of Government offices in Astana, a senior official of the Kazakhstan Embassy here said today.
