Delhi Police forms spl unit to check corruption in traffic unit

New Delhi, Oct 25 (UNI) The Delhi police have formed a special checking unit, under the Vigilance Branch, to check complaints of corruption in the Traffic unit of the Delhi Police.

Headed by a Special Commissioner of Police, the unit, constituted by the Delhi Police Commissioner, will have one officer of the rank of Assistant commissioner of police deputed for one month as public grievance officer (traffic) by rotation.

In addition, special teams will be constituted under the command of Inpector rank officer who would be responsible for field checking for a fortnight.

The system will be fully functional from November one, police said.
