CCEA appoints committee to finalise govt position on BALCO shares

New Delhi, Oct 25 (UNI) The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs today considered the Call Option Notice given by Sterlite Industries India Ltd to acquire 10,81,06,005 equity shares held by the Union government in BALCO.

It was decided to constitute a Committee of Secretaries for finalising the government's position from time to time to consider legal issues as and when they arise, Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi told mediapersons.

The committee would have Secretaries of Departments of Legal Affairs and Divestment and Ministry of Mines.
