Badal greets people on Parkash Utsav of Maharishi Valmiki Ji

Chandigarh, Oct 25 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today extended his greetings to the people of Punjab on the eve of auspicious occasion of Parkash Utsav of Maharishi Valmiki ji and exhorted them to follow the teachings and ideology of Maharishi Valmiki ji to carve out an ideal society regardless of caste, colour and creed.

In his message, Mr Badal said, "Maharishi Valmiki Ji was a great exponent and forefather of Indian culture and civilisation, the creator of ever first epic the holy 'Ramayana' and first great spiritual treatise Yoga Vasistha. His masterpiece creation of 'Ramayana' is a fountain head of human culture, reservoir of wisdom and storehouse of all conceivable human values." Mr Badal called upon the people of the state to celebrate the occasion in unison and rise above the materialistic values thereby paving a way for altruism in human life as preached by Maharishi Valmiki ji.
