Punjab Govt to honour hockey and cricket players

Chandigarh, Oct 24 (UNI) The Punjab government has decided to release Rs 45 lakh to honour the hockey and cricket players of the state who had won laurels at national and international levels.

Stating this here today Minister of Sports and Youth Services Gulzar Singh Ranike said that hockey and cricket players would be awarded Rs 30 lakh and 15 lakh respectively. The Sports persons would be honoured soon in a state level function.

"SAD and BJP collision government under the leadership of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal is fully committed for the promotion of sports in the state," the Minister said.
