Maoists gun down policeman in Sheohar

Sheohar, Oct 24 (UNI)A policeman was shot dead by activists of proscribed CPI(Maoist) at Hanuman Nagar Bazar under Town police station area in the district tonight.

Police said about 25 armed Maoists attacked the patrolling party at Hanuman Nagar Bazar and took a policeman Mohammad Salauddin Khan in their custody. Later, they shot him dead at a deserted place, police added.

After committing the crime, maoists retreated from the spot raising slogans in favour of the banned outfit and left pamphlets indicating they shot dead the policeman to protest the alleged police atrocities in the area, police added.

'Massive combing operation has been launched in the area to nab the maoists', police informed.
