IUML to observe hartal in northern Kerala on Oct 27

Kozhikode, Oct 24 (UNI) The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) will observe a hartal in northern Kerala on October 27 to protest against the Kerala Government's ''continued ignorance'' of Karippur international airport.

The decision to observe the dawn-to-dusk hartal from Kasargode to Palaghat was taken at an executive committee meeting, IUML General Secretary P K Kunhalikutty told reporters here today.

He said the IUML was forced to call for hartal because the government had ''failed'' to introduce foreign airline services and provide hassle-free services by Air India and Indian at the airport, despite repeated protests by various organisations in the past.
