Interior ministers of Pakistan, Afghanistan meet Shivraj Patil

New Delhi, Oct 24 (UNI) Pakistan Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao and his Afghanistan counterpart Zarar Ahmed Moqbel called on Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil here today.

In a meeting which lasted half an hour, the ministers discussed matters of mutual interest, including maintenance of peace and tranquillity in South Asia, besides matters relating to SAARC.

Mr Sherpao and Mr Patil stressed the need to give a fillip to confidence building measures(CBMs) between New Delhi and Islamabad.

The Pakistan and Afghanistan ministers were here to attend the SAARC meeting on terrorism, drug offences, human trafficking and arms smuggling in the region.
