Itanagar, Oct 23 (UNI) BJP national secretary Kiren Rijiju today dubbed the Congress an 'opportunistic party' and alleged that politics in Arunachal Pradesh had changed into 'money' politics. Addressing a two-day state executive meeting beginning today, Mr Rijiju said, ''Muscle and money power were the hallmarks of the successive Congress governments in the state which needs to be changed immediately.'' He also alleged the party did not bother about people's welfare and development, adding that the party lacked commitment and discipline.

Stating that internal bickering among the Congress leaders had ruined the party's image in the state, the BJP leader further alleged despite its rule in the state for over 25 years the party failed to provide any remarkable achievements and made only false promises to the people.

''It may be a challenge to remove Congress from power in the state, but it is not impossible. The BJP with its people friendly policies have highlighted the misdeeds of the Congress, who had been fooling the people so far,'' Mr Rijiju said and called upon the party cadres to reach the people at the grassroots.

BJP would not compromise with its policies and would continue to win the hearts of the people by its good works, he added. Earlier, BJP state unit president Dr Tangor Tapak had also alleged that the Congress-led UPA government's Common Minimum Programme was educed to a common minimum priority. Alleging that the state's political leadership under the Congress rule was deteriorating, Dr Tapak claimed that BJP could provide a clean image to the state politics.
