SC dismisses petition of ex-CJI's grandson

New Delhi, Oct 22 (UNI) The Supreme Court today dismissed the petition of the grandson of former Chief Justice of India, facing allegations of harassing his wife for dowry.

A bench comprising Justices G P Mathur and V S Sirpurkar, however, extended by three weeks the stay against the arrest of the petitioner Anand Mishra, grandson of Justice R N Mishra, ex CJI.

The court directed the petitioner to seek regular bail from the competent court in Orissa within three weeks.

The petitioner had come in appeal against The Orissa High Court judgement, refusing to grant anticipatory bail to him..

His arrest was stayed by this court during the pendency of the appeal.

Wife of Anand Mishra had filed a criminal case against him, alleging that she was being harassed and maltreated for not meeting the demands for dowry.
