Police raids apartments 'grabbed' by Abu Salem's brother
Lucknow, Oct 22 (UNI) Lucknow Police today raided two flats allegedly grabbed by Abu Jaish, the elder brother of jailed mafia don Abu Salem.
Police said the SSP had received complaints that Abujaish had made half payments for two flats in a multi-storey building in Chitwapur locality and taken possession of the premises.
''The raids were made to verify the complaints, three men staying in the two flats were detained for interrogation,'' said an official.
Jaish had allegedly refused to pay the rest of the amount to the landlord and had sub-let the two flats despite protests.
Meanwhile, another raid was conducted at the residence of Akhtar Ansari, said to be Abu Salem's cousin, in Aashiana area here.
Akhtar lives in Mumbai and was not present at home, police said.
A diary and some other documents were recovered from his place.
Meanwhile, several people have been taken into custody for interrogation.
