IFFCO Chairman elected on board of Intl Cooperative Alliance

New Delhi, Oct 22 (UNI) Mr Surendra Kumar Jakhar has been unanimously elected on Board (Global) of the prestigious International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) at its general assembly in Singapore.

At present, Mr Jakhar is serving as Chairman of world's premier fertiliser cooperative IFFCO.

Founded in 1895 ICA is an independent non Government Organisation which has 220 member, organizations from 85 countries representing over 800 million individuals world wide.

Mr Jakhar, an eminent farmer - cooperator has been instrumental in providing a fillip to Indian Cooperative movement for the last three decades. A widely travelled person, he carries with him rich and varied experience in the field of agriculture and cooperation.

Dr US Awasthi, Managing Director, IFFCO hailed Mr Jakhar's uncontested election on ICA Board Global and terming it a moment of pride for IFFCO and the entire Indian cooperative movement.
