USV launches Sebamed skin care range

today
announced
the
launch
of
Sebamed
range
of
skin
care
products
in
India.
The company has signed a marketing alliance with Germany-based Sebapharma GmbH&Co, which owns the Sebamed brand. Sebamed is sold in over 85 countries around the world.
Sebamed is claimed to help in maintaining the skin's natural acidic mantle at pH 5.5 level. The Sebamed range has 18 products that include products for cleansing and care, acne/acne prone skin, anti-ageing and baby products.
Commenting on USV's decision to enter the skin care market, USV chairperson Leena Gandhi Tewari said, ''As the Indian consumer of skin care products is maturing and getting exposed to international trends, we feel they will look for beauty and skin care products which apart from making them look good will help maintain the skin's physiological requirements and are environment friendly.'' Sebamed will be targeted at the premium segment in the skincare category. The skincare product market in India is around Rs 2100 crore and growing at about 16 per cent. USV has signed McCann Healthcare Advertising to handle the creative duties.
