Precious idols of Gods and Godess stolen

Banka, Oct 20 (UNI) Precious idols of Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshmana and Srikrishna were stolen from Thakurbari temple at Barangarh village here last night, Police Superintendent D N Gupta said here today.

Two idols of Lord Rama and Lakshmana each were recovered from a nearby field following information by a person who was arrested during a raid conducted at a hide-out in the village in this connection.

Some firearms were also recovered from the house of the arrested person during the raid.

The stolen idols worth about Rs 5 lakh. Search operation to recover the other two idols was on, he added.
