Over 20 lakh tonne paddy ariives in Haryana mandis

Chandigarh, Oct 20 ((UNI) Over 20.72 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has arrived in the mandis of Haryana so far this season.

Of the total arrival, government procuring agencies have procured 12.31 lakh metric tonnes of paddy so far, Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said today.

He said HAFED had procured 5.16 lakh MTs, of paddy, Food and Supplies Department 3.97 lakh MTs, Agro Industries Corporation 1.57 lakh MTs, Confed 1.20 lakh MTs and Haryana Warehousing Corporation 36,000 MTs of paddy and Food Corporation of India 4,096 MTs.

The Deputy Chief Minister said the Kurukshetra district was still on the top in arrival of paddy in the state with 5.19 lakh MTs of paddy followed by Karnal 4.11 lakh MTs, Fatehabad 3.12 lakh MTs, Kaithal 2.55 lakh MTs, Ambala 1.63 lakh MTs, Yamunanagar 1.10 lakh MTs and Sirsa 93,000 MTs.
