Man stabbed to death in Sangli
Sangli, Maharashtra, Oct 20 (UNI) In a broad daylight murder, a 32-year-old man was today stabbed to death allegedly by a gang of five with sharp weapons at Ahilyanagar zopadpati in the city's Madhavnagar suburb over the old rivalry.
The man was identified as Rafique Yusuf Sheikh, police sources said.
Sheikh, accompanied by another man, was passing by the area on a motorcycle, when a five-member gang stopped the vehicle and attacked him (Sheikh), in which he died on the spot.
Sheikh, one of the accused in a murder case, was presently on bail on the medical ground, police sources said and added his murder was an act of revenge.
All the five have been absconding since the incident, sources added.
