Dussehra to be celebrated in Kashmir after 20 years
Srinagar, Oct 20 (UNI) Kashmiri Pandits will celebrate Dussehra, the victory of good over evil, in the strife-torn valley tomorrow after nearly 20 years.
According to Kashmiri Pandit Sangarsh Samiti (KPPS), members of the displaced community would burn Ravana in effigy sher-i- Kashmir stadium here tomorrow after nearly two decades.
''Our Muslim brethren highly encouraged us to continue such religious functions. Shoba yatra was taken out in Srinagar this September after nearly 18 years in a peaceful atmosphere. As a mark of true brotherhood, hundreds of Muslims also joined the yatra,'' KPPS president Sanjay K Tickoo said in a statement here.
