Disagreement on submersion of Godess Durga idol in Mahoba

Mahoba, Oct 20 (UNI) A tussle seems to have evolved on the submersion of the installed Godess Durga idols here between the district administration and Durga Puja Samitis.

The district administration yesterday ordered the immersion of the idols, installed in several 'pandals' set up on Navratri, at the traditional Keerat Sagar pond only, sources said.

While, the samitis wanted the idols to be submerged in Pachpehra pond, as the water in the traditional pond had dried.

The Puja Samitis had denied the 'visarjan' of Godess Durga idol in Keerat Sagar, saying they would keep the idols installed in the 'pandal' itself.

The administration, on the other hand, has started efforts to refill water in Keerat Sagar to maintain the tradition.
