According to police, Sinduja (7) the daughter of one Kolangiyappan, hailing from Perambalu district of Tamil Nadu, was admitted to the hospital on Oct 10 and doctors informed the parents that she was suffering from brain fever. The child was kept in isolation and the relatives were reportedly not allowed to meet her.
Meanwhile, Sinduja died late last night and the relatives alleged that the child had died much earlier and the matter was not informed to them. They also organised an agitation infront of the hospital.
The VCK volunteers also joined the agitation, which lasted for six hours.
Later, police intervened and pacified them and they came to the Government General Hospital to conduct a post-mortem.
VCK leader Vanangamudi told newspersons that the child had died much earlier and the matter was not informed to her parents, and medicines alone for Rs 21,000 were purchsed for her. He demanded an inquiry into the incident and also arrest of the doctors, attended the child, and the Principal and a solatium of Rs 25 lakh to the family of the child.
