NGO calls for stoppage of animal sacrifice on Ayudha pooja

Hyderabad, Oct 19 (UNI) Non-Governmental Organisation 'Sahayog' today urged the people to stop sacrificing animals on the occasion of 'Ayudha Pooja'.

Though animal sacrifice had been banned by the Andhra Pradesh Government, the evil practice continued unabated in various religious premises, Government offices, factories and public places during 'Ayudha Pooja', it observed in a release here.

Urging the public not to sacrifice any animal on the occasion, it exhorted them to inform a special squad of police of any type of animal sacrifice.
