DSCSC pays Rs 15 lakh dividend to Delhi govt

New Delhi, Oct 19 (UNI) Delhi State Civil Supplies Corporation (DSCSC) today presented a cheque of Rs 15 lakh dividend payment to Lt Governor Tejendra Khanna for the year 2006-07.

Speaking on the occasion, DSCSC Chairperson Neeta Bali informed the Lt Governor that the Corporation has earned a record profit of Rs 7.98 crore during 2006-07, a 29.13 per cent increase over the previous year and is the highest ever achieved so far.

She said the turnover of the Corporation increased from Rs 328.69 crore in 2005-06 to Rs 362.19 crore in the subject year.

About the new initiatives aimed at strengthening the core activities of the Corporation, Ms Bali said the revival of the Corporation has been achieved through expansion and diversification of its activities, improved management practices, better management of funds, stringent economy measures and streamlining of procedures.

She said the Corporation has taken several measures to ensure timely and uninterrupted supply of essential commodities to people especially the weaker sections of the society by bringing about reforms in the public distribution system.

Mr Khanna told the delegation that the DSCSC should consider opening a juice bar chain of fresh seasonal fruits as a pilot project for diversification.
