Ten member gang loot a temple in Davengere

Davengere, Oct 18(UNI) A 10-member gang escaped with jewellery worth Rs 1.5 lakh and cash from Sri Konathagal Ramanathaswamy Temple, near Jagalur taluk early this morning.

According to the police, the gang, aged between 25 and 30 years, came to the temple to make preparations for the puja today.

The police said the gang before encamping with the loot assaulted the temple inmates. The injured were treated in a Jagalur hospital.

Forensic experts and sniffer dogs were rushed to the spot. The police are investigating the case.
