L&T bags Rs 462 crore orders in AP

New Delhi, Oct 18: Construction major Larsen&Toubro Ltd (L&T) today said it has secured four contracts worth Rs 452 crore in Andhra Pradesh (AP), including a Rs 226 crore from country's largest power generator NTPC.

The order from NTPC is to be completed within 39 months, which is for design, engineering, supply and installation of 2 x l600 TPH Coal Handling Plant, for Simhadri Super Thermal Power Project, Stage-II (2x500 MW) to enhance the installed capacity from 1,000 MW to 2,000 MW by adding two units of 500 MW each.

Other three projects worth Rs 226 crore have been secured from Public Health and Municipal Engineering Department, AP, a statement said.

This includes a Rs 93 crore order for engineering, procurement and construction of an underground drainage scheme for Nizamabad township, a Rs 88 crore order for engineering, procurement and construction of water supply improvement scheme to Nellore town, and a Rs 45 crore order to provide safe drinking water to Rayadurg in Ananthapur District.
