Kidnap case against Chiranjivi's son-in-law: Police

Hyderabad, Oct 18 (UNI) The city police today revealed that a kidnap case was registered in 2002 against Shirish Bharadwaj, who got married to Srija, second daughter of the Tollywood Film star Chiranjivi, yesterday against the family's wishes.

Speaking to newspersons here, Sanjiv Reddy Nagar Inspector Venkat Ratnam said a kidnap case was booked against Mr Bharadwaj on March 30, 2002 for abducting a minor girl.

He was also arrested and produced before the court and was released on bail, he added.

Police were also verifying the records of the kidnap case.

It may be recalled that Srija and Bharadwaj got married at Arya Samaj mutt in the city yesterday. Both of them claimed that they were majors and were in love since four years.
