Govt allots two lignite blocs for Barsingsar power project

Bikaner, Oct 18 (UNI) The government today alloted two lignite blocs for the proposed Barsingsar mine cum power project in Rajasthan today.

The 250-mw power project from lignite would be commissioned on time and help to ease the power situation in Rajasthan, Minister of state for coal Dasari Narayana Rao said during the inauguration of Lignite Shakti Nagar, a residential colony at Barsignnagar, about 30 km from here.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje had earlier demanded the allotment of two lignite blocs to meet the demand for lignite for the power project and assured that there would be no shortage of raw meterial.

He said the Centre accords highest priority to power sector and the project would be commissioned on time.
