Former UP Chief Secretary Akhand Pratap Singh granted bail
New Delhi, Oct 18 (UNI) A city court today allowed regular bail application of former UP Chief Secretary Akhand Pratap Singh, who was in custody, in connection with a disproportionate assets case.
Singh, a high profile former bureaucrat, who was once voted the most corrupt officer by the Uttar Pradesh IAS association, is accused of amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income through corrupt means.
According to the corruption case registered against him in 2005, Singh acquired as many as 84 immovable properties in Delhi, UP and Uttarakhand worth Rs 200 crore.
Indermeet Kaur Kocher, Special Judge CBI, after hearing the arguments on bail application today granted regular bail to Singh on personal bond of Rs 2 lakhs and a surety of Rs 2 lakhs.
