Explosion in crackers godown kills 3

Mahoba, Oct 18 (UNI) At least three people were killed and four others grievously injured in an explosion at a fire crackers godown in Chausiyapur colony here today.

The incident happened in an illegal crackers godown, allegedly owned by Pappu, when his family members panicked on knowing that an inspection team was about to visit and check the godown.

When being hurriedly shifted to another place, one of the fire crackers exploded due to mishandling, giving rise to a chain of explosions.

While, Haroon, one his family members died on the spot, Imran and Haseeb later succumbed in hospital.

Pappu's son Danish, wife Shabnam, relatives Zubeda and Amir were severely wounded in the incident.

Meanwhile, senior officials, including District Magistrate Jai Prakash Mishra and Superintendent of Police (SP) Gyan Singh had reached the spot.

Investigation was underway.
