DMK wants committee for mill uplift

Puducherry, Oct 18: Puducherry DMK unit convenor R V Janakiraman today urged the administration to take immediate steps to constitute a high-level committee for the modernisation of government-owned Anglo-French Textile mills here, as announced in the assembly.

Mr Janakiraman in a statement urged the administration to enhance mill workers' salary, which was not hiked for the past 11 years.

The administration should announce a bonus for all the government undertakings and corporations, including the textile mills and road transport corporation, without further delay.
